User’s Manual

1. Project and access links

Quick Translate — John Carl Valino. ITAPPDEV 3 – Mobile Applications. IT Consultant: DR. ERICK R. ABUZO (as provided in the proposal template).

Webpage URL: https://quick-translate-mobile-20261108.bloomychar36.chatgpt.site . Current hosting access is owner-private; reviewers require owner-authorized access before they can visit. Local preview: http://localhost:4173 (available only on the computer running the local server).

Project assets folder supplied by the author: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1S66xY0UaQAFIy2kjAORRTDI0rHBPP-aX?usp=sharing . Folder sharing and contents have not been independently verified. Required folder contents: AIA source, signed APK, AAB, website source ZIP, store artwork, screenshots, editable proposal, and PDF.

2. Mobile App Assets

Application title: Quick Translate. Short description: Translate text and speech, hear results, and keep useful phrases close.

Full description: Quick Translate helps Android users translate typed or spoken words, phrases, and sentences between 13 selectable languages. Choose the source and target languages, type or speak, and read the result. Listen using device speech, save useful phrases, reopen recent translations in Library, and share results using Android. Preferences let you control history saving and automatic playback of typed results. Translation requires internet access; speech features depend on device services and voices.

Store assets include the original app icon from the AIA source, a prepared 1024 × 500 promotional feature graphic, and all five supplied app screenshots. The graphic is promotional artwork, not an application screenshot. No verified Play Store listing URL has been supplied. The landing page therefore uses direct APK distribution rather than a Play Store badge.

3. Administrator’s Manual — project maintainer

Start by visiting the webpage URL in section 1 with an authorized account. Quick Translate has no in-app administrator role or login credentials; “administrator” here means the person maintaining the project and website.

Keep the supplied AIA, AAB, and signed APK as release artifacts. Upload the website files to public_html with their relative folders intact. Confirm both APK controls work. Open Help and review PRD, TRD, and this manual. Check theme switching, mobile navigation, and all screenshots. Before sharing with assessors, arrange appropriate website access and verify Drive sharing.

For updates, build the new release using the original signing identity, replace downloads/quick-translate.apk, update the manifest-derived version/file size/minimum SDK on the webpage, and retest the downloads. Update documentation and asset ZIP together. Do not upload keystores, passwords, or private credentials.

4. Install the Android application

1. On your Android device, visit the authorized landing-page URL and select Download APK. The file is quick-translate.apk, version 1.0, 4.43 MB.

2. Open the downloaded file. If Android asks, allow installation from the browser or file manager used for this download. Labels vary by Android version. Approve installation only if you trust this project source.

3. Complete the installer and open Quick Translate. You can turn the installation-source permission off again after installing. The APK declares Android API 14 as its minimum; actual device compatibility is not yet tested.

4. Connect to the internet for translation. For Listen & Translate, allow microphone access when requested and ensure speech services are available. Install or enable the target language’s text-to-speech voice if playback is unavailable.

5. User Manual — Android end user

Translate text: open Translate; choose source and target languages; type into Original text; tap Translate now; read Translation. Use the swap control to reverse the language pair. Clear removes the current input so you can begin another translation.

Translate speech: choose the source and target languages, tap Listen & Translate, grant microphone permission if asked, and speak clearly. Review the recognized text and result. The source supports automatic speech output for voice translations.

Listen, save, and share: after a successful result, tap Speak result to hear it, Save to bookmark the phrase, or Share to choose an Android destination. Playback depends on installed voices.

Library: tap Library to view Recent translations and Bookmarked phrases. Tap an entry to reopen it in Translate. Use the clear controls when you want to remove a list and follow any confirmation prompt.

Preferences: tap Settings. Toggle automatic reading of typed results or saving translation history. Read Privacy & Connection to understand internet use and local storage. There are no separate teacher, staff, student, or administrator accounts.

6. Webpage and Help instructions

Use Home, Features, How it works, Screenshots, About, and Download to move around the landing page. On a small screen, open the menu button first. Use the theme control to switch light/dark appearance; the choice persists when browser storage is available.

In Screenshots, swipe horizontally or use the arrow controls; keyboard users can focus the carousel and use Left/Right. Open Help and select Product Requirement Document, Technical Requirement Document, or User’s Manual. The selected page opens in a popup modal. Use Close or Escape to dismiss it; Open page provides standalone access and printing.

7. Troubleshooting and privacy

No result: check internet access, the selected language pair, and nonempty input, then try again. If the service reports an error, follow the app message rather than assuming a result is correct.

Microphone or speech unavailable: check microphone permission, recognition services, installed target-language voices, and device audio settings. Try typed input when speech recognition is unavailable.

History missing: confirm the save-history preference and check whether data was cleared. Entries are local to this app installation; there is no account-based recovery or cloud backup.

APK will not install: confirm the download completed and that your device allows this installation source. Use only the supplied signed file; do not rename an AAB or AIA to APK. Device-specific installation testing remains pending.

The website stores theme preference locally. Translation text goes to the translation service; speech and sharing may involve external providers. Avoid submitting sensitive content without understanding those services. No verified Play Store listing or online account system is claimed.
